Sakura Fantasy Review

Experience the thrilling story of a young recruit as she strives to become a knight.

Some key points that this game offers:

  1. An amazing story that keeps you pinned eagerly waiting to hear more.
  2. Beautiful scenes with gorgeous landscapes that truly capture the eye.
  3. A variety of characters to meet, all with their own unique traits and personalities.
Training
Training time!

Gameplay & Controls:

One can literally sit back and enjoy as the story unfolds, we have the auto play feature that lets the story move onto the next scene automatically, we can set the speed of how fast the text appears and move on to the next screen.

Swamp
Something is bound to go wrong here!

Left mouse button can be used to manually click to move on to the next scene, with the right mouse button being used as the menu key. The mouse wheel can be clicked to hide the UI and furthermore, the mouse wheel can be scrolled to move to previous scenes.

Graphics:

Every scene is beautifully crafted, brimming with vibrant colours, making them all seem so magical, truly a bliss to look at and admire. Every scene is very welcoming, you can’t help but stare and admire how much detail went into creating each scene. It truly is a work of art in that regard, the characters all have their own little features and traits.

Beauty
She is a keeper.

The only thing I do have to mention regarding a down side, some of the areas you move through such as the swamp. It would have been better if the same scene doesn’t keep on repeating itself. But instead another swamp scene but slightly altered to actually slow progression, other than that truly a beautiful game to behold. In the menu we can choose whether to play the game in Full screen or Window mode.

Sounds:

Truly another beautiful and soothing add on to the game, the music has been carefully chosen to really set the tone for each scene, whether it’s a casual meeting or something stirring that calls for some dramatic tones. It’s there and it really sets the mood for the story, the entire soundtrack truly enhances the game and overall, it really improves your experience in the game.

Village
Time to get some rest!

What truly adds onto that and further makes the game better is the characters being voiced giving new meaning to bringing life to a book, this takes storytelling to a whole new level. Last but not least, the ambient sounds are really a hit here, there are so many of them, adding to the liveliness of this book, all of this has been masterfully combined to deliver one amazing listening experience.

Replayability:

As it stands, only chapter 1 of the game has been released. It plays from start to finish, and it does contain several different choices that you get to make as you play through it, but none of them alter the game thus far, it does unlock different scenes so for now you only have that as replay reason.

Cast
Meet the Cast.

The game does really set a high bar for the overall story which will come down to being one amazing experience with the potential for multiple endings.

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Spoilers Ahead:

Sakura Fantasy Chapter 1 has gone and set a new bar for storytelling. One which has Raelin our protagonist, a young novice aspiring to become a knight with a very unhealthy curious mind that’s got a knack for intruding on others privacy.  Having the gift of Far-seeing only adds to the mischief she enjoys causing.

Castle
Landscapes were decently drawn.

She has her entire world turned upside down when she unknowingly meets the mysterious Empress. Soon after these events occur, she is given the option to venture out into the dangerous lands beyond the capital worlds in search of another mystery. The falling star, journeys with her as she learns her own capabilities, masters her own fear and effortlessly works to keep her promise to the Empress.

Tough
She will not tolerate disobedience.

Chapter one has really set the bar high for this story and the potential for a masterpiece lies in wait here.

MGR Gaming Score 8
