A nice little space adventure awaits you captain.
Some key points that this game offers:
- Stunningly beautiful art as per usual.
- Decent story line.
Gameplay & Controls:
The controls for these games are pretty much straightforward. If you like reading it and having the game move onto the next scene by itself you click that Auto button and enjoy the story once you’ve set the text and scene speed.
If you are a more hands on reader you can use the LMB/ SPACE Bar to move onto the next scenes in our own time. You can scroll back to a previous scene with the middle mouse button by scrolling up and down, you can hide the UI by pressing the middle mouse button or the H button to grab those screenshots.
Graphics:
The art is beautifully created; each scene looks stunning, filled with detail to truly make it seem warm and welcoming, adding the rich and vibrant colours into the mix really make for a unique setting. The scenes are divided up into the insides of a Space ship. Certain areas have an ‘outlook’ view of space itself.
This however does not make the game lack in terms of visual appearance, as I mentioned each scene is beautifully crafted and filled with a warm and welcoming look. The characters are all uniquely designed as well, their body postures showcasing their attitudes and personalities. Some actual animated scenes here would have showcased the characters much better; the static images simply do not do them enough justice here. On the settings side of things, we can choose Fullscreen or Window mode.
Sounds:
The game’s background music is rather soothing and sets the tone for the game itself, however this only happens once you turn the volume somewhat down, otherwise the overbearing ‘loudness of the music can become quite annoying quite fast, but at a lower volume it is quite pleasant. The self-voicing patch that the game has still doesn’t fit with the game at all.
The voice itself has no business in the game whatsoever, it simply does not enhance or offer any positivity to us at all. On the setting side of things, we have volume control of the Music, Ambience and Sound volumes yet there is no in game sounds or ambience to control, so setting exists for functions that were never implemented.
Replayability:
The game does not offer you any reason to replay it, there are some choices that you can make throughout the game, but they do not change anything remarkable or noteworthy in the game, at the end of the game you are graded with investigation score based on which choices you have made.
MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Spoilers Ahead:
Sakura Space seems like it wanted to be great, the story starts off interesting with a lot of potential but then as it unfolds it becomes boring. The story simply doesn’t have that content that makes it captivating or entertaining enough to glue you to the screen. The plot seems great but the way it unfolds, the reasoning behind the events that happens within the main story, all seems and comes across too ‘child like’ which really doesn’t help the game.
To make matters worse, the ‘forceful’ perverted scenes and scripts don’t feel like they fit in, perhaps they fit in more with the adult patched version, but with the steam standard version the story simply isn’t good enough to call a decent or enjoyable visual novel.
If the script writer either invested some more time or was allowed to invest more time to fill some holes or simply added some better scripted lines to enhance the overall quality of the story and character backgrounds along with how events unfolded this would have been such an adventurous story to experience. As it stands it is below mediocre at best.
The game starts with you playing the role as Captain Shika, a bounty hunter with two fellow female hunters under your command. One morning after checking out the reports and possible jobs you see a bounty for 1 Billion Imperial Dollars. An amount that is beyond reason in their line of work and that is where Captain Shika decides to cancel all other work and focus on the life altering bounty, and this is where your story begins.
Adult Patch:
This patch can be downloaded from Winged Cloud’s Patreon page and once ‘installed’ it changes the game into the uncensored version. One of the changes you will experience is that some of the scenes where the women are in their underwear/ swim wear have been changed so that they are nude instead.
Other scenes have minor changes such as erect nipples being visible through clothing. Some scenes also have an extended ‘scene’ that leads to a sex or a masturbation scene, a few new extra lines accompany these scenes but nothing specific.
