Please note that this Review may contain spoilers from the Base game

Some key points that this game add on has to offer:

  1. Three new Weapon classes for your marines.
  2. A brand new campaign that takes Infested Planets strategic thinking and play style to a whole new level.
  3. Three new enemy types just waiting for you.
  4. Procedural Tech Progression.
  5. New difficulties to really test your skills out.
  6. Offensive and defensive missions this time around.
Map
A new war has started.

Replayability:

With the original game, replayability was somewhat limited depending on your play style. Sure, you could of replayed the campaign if you wanted, or take on skirmish mission, but the most favourable option was the weekly challenges, with the Infested Planet DLC however we got a new campaign that is completely strategic with new difficulty options and each time you play it, its new.

Abilities
You are not without support!

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:

Infested Planet – Planetary Campaign doesn’t really overhaul the existing campaign, it adds a completely new one that you select, from there you can choose the size, whether its small or insanely large and then you get to choose a difficulty, start at easy and casually work your way up or if your fresh off the battlefield, pit your skills against the new harder than before difficulties.

When it comes down to the numbers this DLC really enhances the overall fun you can have in this game, it’s cheap whether you buy it separately or in the bundle and it sure is worth it, it will most definitely increase your fun and upgrade it to a whole new level.

Elite
Show ’em who’s boss!

The campaign plays as turn based, you start with a select number of territories as do the aliens, from there you reinforce your territories to defend them against potential attacks, whilst attacking your enemy’s territories to expand yours and eliminate their overall power.

Each successful win grants you research points which are used to unlock new technology that can be used in the field such as buildings or unit upgrades. No two campaigns are the same, each area is generated uniquely and so is the available technology for the campaign making each experience new and fresh. The game offers a few other neat add-ons as well such as tactics with powers, a pre-emptive strike before going into battle if you may, these powers vary in ability each serving a purpose to help you win the war.

Morale
Got to keep it up high!
