MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus – Heretek might be a tiny DLC but it changes the way Mechanicus is played entirely and personally I think that this is a stunning change of scenery. Not only do you have to contend with the undying Necrons, but now your fellow Tech priest as well.

Whether you fight in the name of the Emperor or against him, this DLC will give you the opportunity to thoroughly prove your resolve. Purge the Caestus Metalican from Heresy or overthrow it; the choice will be yours…

The Caestus Metalican — Wage war on the Caestus Metalican itself.

This DLC adds five new missions to your campaign for you to play, based on the Ark Mechanicus. There is a new Discipline as well for your Tech- Priests to master; Xenarite, granting you the ability to wield Xenotech… With it comes new augments as well.

The new troops that were added with DLC offers new strategic options for you to make use of. The new weapons not only offer devasting firepower, but opens up entirely new ways of playing the game.

W40kMH2 — Insert from the artbook; Not just a mere Heretic.

The only real let down that this DLC offers is the fact that unlike the base game or other DLC, it requires a constant connection to the internet to work. If you play in offline mode you will not have access to any of the Heretek content. Unlocked abilities will still be present but the new discipline tree will not nor will the Heretek missions and quest giver.

All in all, a stunning add on to a stunning game!
