The much-anticipated 2.0 update is being released today alongside a Cyberpunk livestream event.
This will be the largest update to the Cyberpunk world to date and has been long awaited by fans of the game.
The announcement was made via a Twitter/X post stating:
This post generated considerable speculation regarding the patch’s imminent release in proximity to the livestream, and this was subsequently confirmed with the following post:
The update will encompass various enhancements, such as vehicle combat, skill tree and player progression revisions, cyberware improvements, and an overhaul of police AI, among other changes that collectively make it almost like an entirely new game.
This will be the 12th patch for Cyberpunk 2077 and the biggest one to date.
The following is a list of everything that will be modified or added in Cyberpunk 2077 with the new patch:
- Redesigned skill trees and perks
- Revamped cyberware and new capacity system
- Vehicle combat and car chases
- Pistol and SMG car-to-car combat
- Weaponized vehicles
- New Netrunning quick hacking
- New NCPD system
- Overhauled combat AI
- UI and UX improvements
- Loot, items, and crafting changes
- New radio stations:
- 89.7 Growl FM
- 99.9 Impulse
- 107.5 Dark Star
Along with the other features being added in the patch, the way cyberware affects your character will be completely overhauled.
The 2.0 update will be accessible “close to the end” of the celebratory livestream on the 21st of September starting at 4 pm CEST (4 pm SAST) according to CD Projekt community manager Lilayah.

The launch of the patch will occur after the livestream has detailed all the new features included in patch 2.0. This massive update comes only five days before the Phantom Liberty expansion on the 26th of September.
This means that Cyberpunk fans will have a lot to expect this month in the way of new content and changes to the gameplay.
