Furious Kitty is a gamer, Twitch Streamer, Content Creator, Product reviewer, aspiring cosplayer and so much more.
Her content is professional and down to earth and her whole demeanour just draws you in and keeps you coming back for more. Her varied content will keep you interested and ensure that the first time you watch her stream wont be your last.
She is affiliated with Apex Interactive and is passionate about spreading the word about all things tech and gaming-related. This passion is evident in her online writing, particularly on her Instagram, which showcases her love of all things geeky and tech-related.
We naturally wanted to find out more about this bubbly content creator and caught up with her for an interview. We started as we always do by finding out more about her as a person so we asked the obligatory first question….
Who is Furious Kitty and what is your backstory?
“My name is Ingrid, AKA Furious Kitty, a 27-year-old avid gamer, setup enthusiast, and content creator from South Africa. I’ve been gaming ever since I can remember. From PC, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox, if you see me, I’d always be glued to a screen, lost on some sort of adventure in a fictional world.
Gaming became a really big passion for me and I knew I wanted to do something more in the world of gaming and believe me, I’ve tried everything from Esports to game development to Youtube to streaming, but I never really found something that made me feel like I can really make an impact until I decided to share one simple photo of my gaming collection on Instagram.
I realized how amazing the gaming/geek community is on Insta and how much joy it gave me to share photos and videos of all the geeky things I love with everyone. As my following started to grow, I started doing more reviews and unboxings and even started reaching out to brands. I really fell in love with making content on Instagram and now it’s part of my everyday life.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the typical outspoken Twitch streamer. I’m more of a highly introverted geek who loves sharing the things she loves with like-minded people. I make content on Instagram of my gaming setup, various tech, and of course, everything gaming and geek-related.
One of the best things since starting my journey is having the honour to work with Apex Interactive and being partnered with Razer. I am so thankful for the opportunities the wonderful team has given to me to improve my setup and my content as well as give back to the community with regular giveaways.
Another great thing is to be able to write game reviews and make content for our local Nintendo Distributor, Prima Interactive, and Koodoo. It’s always such a joy to work with brands to promote tech, geek merch, and games, especially all the extraordinary local companies that deserve so much more exposure.”
What is your role in the gaming community?
“My role? Mmmm, I feel like it would be to show the world that it’s more than just a game, more than just tech and collectables, and how it can bring people together and bring so much joy in so many unsuspecting ways.
If I can prove that you can be yourself and be the happiest you can be doing so, then I feel like I’ve done my part. That’s it, the rest is just content.”
What is your favourite genre of game?
“I am a huge fan of any game with a good story, a beautifully unique world, and memorable characters. So Action-adventure and open-world RPG games have always been my go-to, especially games like Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, The Witcher, and The Last of Us.
Anything with non-linear gameplay, where choices affect the outcome, and where you actually relate to your character makes me absolutely get lost in the game.
Although, everyone always tells me that I have a very broad taste in games. One moment I would be watering flowers in Animal Crossing and the next I’d be blowing up people in Apex Legends. I just really love games overall.”
What is your preferred gaming platform?
“I mostly play on PS5 and Nintendo Switch but there are some games I prefer to play on PC as well. Being able to relax on a comfy couch with some coffee or pizza and play games all day long is my favourite thing to do.”
What is your favourite thing about gaming?
“My favourite thing about gaming is the way people have the freedom to be able to express themselves to the fullest. You also get to experience things you probably never would in real life. It’s like they say, a gamer is the hero of a thousand stories and it’s true.”
What are your current projects and what do you have planned for the future?
“I have some amazing collaborations and tech reviews coming up soon and I’m planning to do some cosplays as well! Creating content is a constant learning curve but I’m so grateful for all the things I’ve learned over the past year.
My goal for the future is just to keep being consistent with my content and keep improving.”
