Lego is coming to Fortnite this week as well as a lot of other neat features
This weekend, Epic has announced some major future plans. As the name implies, Lego Fortnite is a massive collaboration that took years to create. It’s a brand-new, free game that you can play alone or in multiplayer with other players inside Fortnite starting on December 7.
The survival-crafting game is still in development, but it’s expected to play similarly to Lego Worlds or Minecraft, the Lego Group’s earlier entry into the genre. With Lego Fortnite, Epic and the Lego Group are initiating a multi-year partnership that was previously declared but has not yet yielded results.
Lego claims that its collaboration with Epic is intended to create entertaining and secure online environments for kids and families. It has long been known that Epic CEO Tim Sweeney frequently discusses the metaverse, of which the Lego partnership is considered as a first step.
“Within Lego Fortnite, players can explore vast, open worlds where the magic of Lego building and Fortnite collide,” stated a Lego press release. “Designed for people of all ages to enjoy together, the game will encourage creativity, experimentation, and collaboration through play.”
