Insider Report Provides Insights into Ubisoft’s Foray into Feudal JapanÂ
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Red is generating buzz with a recent insider report shedding light on its combat, hideout system, and engine enhancements. While details are subject to speculation, the report offers intriguing glimpses into what players can anticipate from the upcoming installment.
According to sources from Tom Henderson at Insider Gaming, Ubisoft is leveraging an evolved version of its Anvil engine for Assassin’s Creed Red. This iteration, dubbed the “Anvil Pipeline,” promises improved visuals and allows seamless collaboration among developers, facilitating enhancements in animations, parkour mechanics, dynamic weather, and more.
In terms of combat, Assassin’s Creed Red is expected to build upon the foundation laid by Valhalla, with added elements of gore including blood and decapitations. Drawing inspiration from Splinter Cell, players will reportedly have the option to extinguish light sources to aid in stealth maneuvers, adding depth to the gameplay experience.
A significant innovation comes in the form of “The Hideout,” an evolution of the Settlement feature from Valhalla. Players will have the opportunity to customize their hideout with various amenities such as an armory, dojo, altar, and more. Each building within the hideout will offer extensive customization options, allowing players to tailor their secret base according to their preferences.
While an official release date for Assassin’s Creed Red is yet to be confirmed, rumors suggest a potential reveal in May, followed by a gameplay trailer in July and a November launch date. While these dates are speculative, they align with the franchise’s typical release schedule, adding fuel to the anticipation surrounding Ubisoft’s latest venture into historical fiction.
