This beauty is a beast, it is so close to the original that one might mistake it for a Microsoft product.

Aesthetics:
The fancy light shows here are not to sell you on vanity or to make up for other shortcomings, this beauty is a beast in every way.
The see through look that the controller provides gives you a full view of what the insides look like on your controller. This however can go either way depending on the user, some might appreciate this view whilst others might not, it is a personal matter here. However, the Prismatic afterglow is an RGB controller and the RGB lights require the see through effect to offer you the beautiful light show that it has to offer and I assure you that the light show is beyond impressive.
The entire look and feel of the controller come across as high quality which makes it so much more appealing and enjoyable to use.
Comfort:
The layout of the controller comes across as an exact replica of that of an Xbox One controller, this includes button layout and button names.
Personally, to me this is a plus, I have been a fan of the Xbox controller from the moment I laid eyes on them all those years ago. The look and feel of them are perfect, they fit into your hands beautifully.
PDP’s Afterglow does just that in terms of comfort. The button uses are on par to that of the original Xbox One controller, there is almost no difference that is noticeable between the two. The RGB colours can be adjusted not just in colours but also the brightness, so the choice on how bright the lights are is entirely up to you.
Durability:
Near perfect at this stage, from the moment I have laid my eyes and hands on my Afterglow I took it for a test run, and that was just to readjust my standings with controllers for PC gaming. My previous controller dropped me terribly, so the Afterglow was thoroughly tested to ensure I will not have the same issues, and boy oh boy did the afterglow impress me.
The button uses are comfortable and so soothing, there is none of that hard clacking sounds that other controllers offer, not only do you have to double press or super press to ensure that your action was actioned.
The joysticks are quick in response and perform beautifully, this I personally tested out in several gaming genre’s; such as FPS, Racings Games, Open World RPG and even Platformer games, the Afterglow handles them gorgeously without fail.
User Friendly & Functionality:
Once you unbox the kit, you will find the controller, the power cable and an instruction manual. Once you have connected the power cable to your controller and plug it into your PC, the light show will start up.
You will notice that the Afterglow has one more button than regular Xbox One controller, located on the right side of the right joystick, that is the function button, which is used to set the lights from solid colours to multiple colours and along with that the brightness of the lights can also be adjusted.
There are four modes for the colours as well that can be made use of for the serious RGB fans. The function button can be used as well for various chat related settings. The instruction manual does a marvelous job of explaining to you how to make all the required adjustments.
MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
The selling price for the Afterglow varies from store to store, however there are also a few variants, with Prismatic being the one that I have. Numerous other controllers sell for the same price range than what the Afterglow does.
This includes wireless controllers, and unfortunately, given that the Afterglow controllers offers lighting effects wireless just is not an option here, but make no mistake, the power cable is long enough to ensure that there is no obvious short coming here.
The quality product that you receive here more than makes up for the price tag the Afterglow has, it is an amazing product through and through.
