Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is currently in development at Konami

Despite Konami’s current focus on the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game is reportedly still in the works.

A Metal Gear Solid remake is in the early stages of development, according to the Spanish website Areajugones, and it’s one of Konami’s most ambitious upcoming projects. Areajugones previously reported on the Valhalla DLC expansion for God of War Ragnarok ahead of its official announcement at The Game Awards 2023.

How the rmake of Metal Gear Solid might look.

Areajugones also stated that the Metal Gear Solid remake will only be available on the PlayStation 5 and not the PlayStation 4. However, because the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is a multiplatform release, this does not imply that the game will be a PlayStation exclusive. Furthermore, there is no information on which studio is handling the remake, whether it is Konami or an outside studio.

Konami is currently working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as well as a remake of Silent Hill 2 with developer Bloober Team. Both games appear to be launching in 2024, though Konami has yet to officially announce any release dates.

While fans wait, they can enjoy the series’ first five entries in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which launched on October 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.
