Embark Studios will continue to improve aggressive aim assist difficulties in The Finals, its destructive shooter
The studio just released a patch to solve the game’s annoying aim assist, which allegedly gave gamepad players a significant advantage over their everlasting mouse and keyboard foes. However, the team intends to keep testing aim assist changes because “balancing is never done.”
“We checked and adjusted on a weapon-by-weapon basis to bring a much more even approach,” writes one developer in their Discord server. Even after yesterday’s patch, these new modifications will be checked “again and again” to avoid fresh annoyances.
“We don’t make changes based on the volume of voices, but on information, we can see within our own tools,” the note adds, ostensibly alluding to the amount of time it takes to resolve “pain points” in the community. “That said, the first step often happens when the community of players finds something off in their experience and shares it with us.”
All the way down the thread on the shooter’s subreddit, players were mainly enthusiastic about the modifications (and the reasons). That’s a welcome return in this FPS milieu, however, The Finals’ studio has already tried to nuke the current ‘nuke’ trend, but Heavy mains still found a method to build on-the-fly explosives.
